About Barry
Born in Vancouver in 1955 and raised in Victoria, BC, Barry graduated from the Canadian College of Massage in 1981 and completed his Rolfing training within five years. He went on to pursue advanced training with both the Rolf Institute and the Guild for Structural Integration.
From 1992 to 2002 he completed the ten-year Bodynamics Denmark training, a deep study of psychological function and shock trauma that informs the care and attentiveness he brings to every client. His practice supports each person's own goals — greater freedom from pain, better performance, and enhanced vitality.
The Work
Rolfing is a form of hands-on bodywork that releases long-held tension in the body's connective tissue and reorganizes the body in relation to gravity. The result is a structure that stands, moves, and rests with more ease — often with relief from pain that other approaches haven't resolved.
Address chronic strain in the lower back, neck, shoulders, hips, and knees by working with the tissue that holds it.
Improve balance, posture, and freedom of movement so that everyday activity and athletic effort feel lighter.
As the body aligns and integrates as a whole, many people experience greater energy and a renewed sense of ease.

An introductory session to experience the work and decide whether to continue with the full series.
The classic Ten-Series. The first seven sessions build on one another, working layer by layer with the connective tissue and the strain it holds. The final three organize, integrate, and align the body as a whole — for improved balance, freedom of movement, and energy.
Offered after the Ten-Series and several months of integration. These five sessions reinforce your gains and focus on any specific areas you'd like to revisit.
